Summer Trend Report 2012

As we start summer, we leave behind our spring threads and dive head first into the new trends! I bring to you today the Summer Trend Report 2012! No girl dares to be caught in last season threads and although a lot of spring trends stuck around, summer brings us some new and fun fashion styles!

Orange: Orange isn’t going anywhere this summer. We saw it all spring and we’re sure to see it all summer. From shirts to dresses to pants we’ve seen this color everywhere. It’s a perfect color to add to any outfit for a splash of color, but you be careful to not overdue it or you’ll look like you stole someone’s prison jumpsuit.

Neon: I am pleased to say the neon trend is also here to stay. This is one of my personal favorites. You can wear it on your nails, shoes, accessories or clothing! Neon is a fun way to show your personality. Neon bathing suits are a perfect idea for summer or get your hands and feet ready with a neon mani/pedi!

High Waisted Shorts: Vintage style shorts are super in for summer. From shorts with designs or just plain jean, you can wear them to the beach or out on the town with your favorite Jeffery Campbells. You can make your own pair too! Check out my tutorial on em'

Tiny Tops: Tiny tops are a go for this upcoming season. From neon crop tops to bustier style short tops, these are everywhere. You can pair them with a skirt, either long or short or with a pair of those high waisted shorts.

Florals: Also seen in spring, florals are sticking around. Large, loud flower patterns are all the rage.  Pair some floral shorts with a cute orange button down and your right on trend and super cute! I personally love the floral pants and blazers coming out. Floral pants with a plain crop top and some banging heels and you got yourself a perfect night out outfit.

Mixing Prints: Step outside your comfort zone with this summer trend. Grab those cheetah flats and pair em’ with your new floral shorts or blazer. Mixing prints is a bit risky, but such a fun way to play with your closet. How about some lace with tribal prints? Or galaxy patterns with animal print? Just make sure the colors all compliment each other and none of the patterns are too bold and all of you can pull this off without any extra effort.

Pastels: Soft, pastel colors are all over the stores this season! From gorgeous mint green maxis to soft pink skinnys, this is a must have for all the fashionistas. The pastel maxi skirts and skinnys are my personal fav! They are so cute and classy. A pastel bag is also a great way to incorporate the trend.

And there you have it! Your summer trend report for 2012! Get your shopping shoes ready and hit the stores to grab these items to keep your closet summer ready!

Which trend is your favorite?

My Trip on the High Seas!

Happy Thursday dolls!

I was away on yet another vacation this summer and I'm back and ready to catch up on my blogging but before that I wanted to share with you all some pictures from my fabulous cruise. I went on a cruise for my little sister's 20th birthday with her and some other of our sorority sisters. We had such a great time and we met such great people. It was a welcome get away before my crazy month of July starts where I'll be busy working extremely long hours a day for all the swim trade shows, Mercedes Benz Swim Week shows and Style Week Resort show. Until then, I'll be here blogging away. Enjoy the photos!

Revlon Review

Ciao my little fashion disciples! I hope you are all doing fabulous as I come to you today with a little review on some great new products I recently picked up.

If you're anything like me, I can't go to the drugstore without getting sucked into the beauty isle and seeing the new products that came out. I'm like a moth to the flame. I get sucked in and want to buy every product in ever color. This time it worked out in my favor because I love what I picked up!

I'm talking about two great new products Revlon has come out with. Their Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain & Revlon Lip Butter Balm.

I got three of each to try. Let's start with the Kissable balms, which I got the colors Romantic, Rendezvous & Darling.

Left to Right: Darling, Rendezvous, Romantic

Left to Right: Darling, Rendezvous, Romantic

Left to Right: Romantic, Rendezvous, Darling

I LOVE all three of them. They have a more moisturizing effect then the original Just Bitten stains (which I also love) and they kind of remind me of the Chubby sticks from Clinique. It looks like a big crayon that you paint your lips with. It goes on smoothly, but make sure your lips are nice and smooth because if not it'll look horrible. The staying power is pretty good & they definitely stain the lips. Even when the balm effect wears off you still have color, so no need to always be reapplying.

My favorite of the three is Darling. A lilac pink color which looks great on & it stayed on my lips forever. Rendezvous is a tangerine & Romantic is a nice red color.

For the price (around $7) you can't beat it. They work, look great & have tons of fun colors to try out for summer. Deff. must try for all you ladies.

Now, the Lip Butter balms are FAB-U-LOUS! I love lipstick and I love tinted balms and if those two things were to have a baby this would be it. They have great pigmentation and the color really shows on the lips. The packaging is also great with the clear top so you can see the actual color before you buy it. I ended up getting Cupcake, Tutti Frutti & Cotton Candy. These are about $6-7 bucks and so worth it. They give you lipstick color but with a touch of gloss and the moisture of a balm. I was surprised how much color they give off.

Left to Right: Cotton Candy, Tutti Frutti & Cupcake

Left to Right: Cupcake, Cotton Candy & Tutti Frutti

Tutti Frutti is a tangerine orange, similar to MACs Morange lipstick. LOVE IT. Cupcake is a sheer blue-pink, kinda reminds me of MACs Nicki Minaj color and Snob & last but not least is Cotton Candy which is a warm pink with a touch of gold. I will deff. be going to pick up some more asap because they are superb and there are so many colors to choose from!

Ladies, these two products get a thumbs up from me. What do you think? Will you give em a go or skip this one?

P.S Sorry for the poor pictures, as soon as I find my camera I'll repost & this is my own personal review, NO product was given to me to try.

Taking over NOLA!

Hello beauties. I have left my gorgeous city of Miami to travel 13 hours to the city of New Orleans with my best friend Alex for a little vacation time.

The 13 hour car drive was okay the first 6 hours and after that I wanted to go nuts contained in that tiny car! But, we did get to see some beautiful states like Alabama and Mississippi. We celebrated our arrival in NOLA with strawberry margaritas, very well deserved.

Now since being here, we've gone on a ghost tour of the French Quarter and partied on Bourbon Street. Yesterday we went to the zoo, it was so much fun even though it was almost 100 degress outside and we we're melting with every step we took. I also had my first ever Snoball experience yesterday. It's kinda like a snocone but way better! And then last night we went to 50 cent night at our favorite bar The Boot. Everything is 50 cents, which I find amazing!

Today we've been taking it easy until dinner time where we're gonna have a nice night out. I'm currently super sick, which sucks but I'm trying to make the best out of it.

Until my next NOLA adventure, xoxx dolls!

How To Video : Hair Chalking

This season colored hair is all the rage & today ladies I'm coming at you with a HOW TO video to achieve color in your hair without the commitment of permanent color! This is called hair chalking. It's so much fun and so easy to do.

You'll need a few things : brush, towel, clips, water, soft pastel chalk, gloves (optional), flat or curling iron and a blow dryer.

All you do is section off the hair you wanna color, wet it , chalk it the let it dry and curl it! SO EASY!

Now just a few tips and tricks before you do this. It does rub off on your clothes a little bit so make sure to wear something close to the color in your hair or a dark color. Also you can add some hairspray to set the color. If you're blonde you don't need the water unless your okay with it staying for a few washes, but if you have dark hair you NEED the water or it'll never work.

Have fun with this ladies and step outside your comfort zone! Send me your pictures of your hair!

Happy Hair Chalking!
